The Juice: 

“Did they have real sex on camera?” was the question everyone was asking when this erotic thriller about a married couple on the brink of divorce hit the theaters. Adding to the major clit-bait was that the on-screen couple was played by the real-life married couple Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. 

Stanley Kubrick’s last movie, which was based on Schnitzler’s book Traumnovelle, shows a man descending into an ‘erotic underworld’ after his wife confesses she was thinking about having an affair. Drastic measures, but hey, we get to see a secret society and a blueprint for “how to ruin a marriage in a night.” 

The Sexy: 

This film is trying to be sexy all the time and actually, it IS sexy most of the time! A major accomplishment in my book. My favorite moments are Kidman feeling herself in the mirror and of course, the weird cultish sex party, which is basically everything SNCTM aspires to be but can’t truly pull off. Ayyyy, I said it! Sue me :)
